Volume 1- Art for Children: Building a Visual Vocabulary.

This beginning art course for kindergarten and early elementary students is the starting point for a delightful adventure in art. Topics include the things artists do (compose, imagine, observe, communicate) and the elements we see (shapes, form, and texture) as well as the types of subjects we draw and paint (landscapes, still life, animals, figures, and portraits.) 

• Prompted by the text, your child sees these ideas used in Master Artworks and participates in exploring these ideas in their own world, becoming more visually aware of the world they live in. With awareness, those objects and observations begin to appear in their artwork, as they tell their own story, revealing their ideas, interests, and experiences like a true artist.
